109: I Supplied the “Too”

Send us Fan Mail

“You have broad shoulders” became “You have too broad shoulders, ” and the funny part is, nobody actually said the word too. I supplied it all by myself, then apparently carried it around in my shoulders for years. I’m wondering how many other meanings we’ve added to the things we've been told. And more importantly, what might happen if we stopped compressing ourselves and took up the space that was ours all along?

Key Takeaways:

  • Sometimes the limits we live with are not words we were actually told, but meanings we added ourselves.
  • Awareness is a beginning, but changing the posture, belief, or pattern takes practice.
  • Equality is not about becoming the same. It is about making room for more possibilities and more choices.
